Investigative group announces causes of plane crash in Perm

Perm –APA. Engine failure caused an Aeroflot Boeing 737-500 plane crash in Perm, Russia on Sunday. Chairman of Investigation Committee of Russian Prosecutor’s Office Alexander Bastrykin said according to the preliminary version failure of right engine caused explosion later. Official dismissed fears terrorists had attacked the airliner. Bastrykin said final result of the investigation would be announced in six months.
Preliminary investigation was finished on site where the plane flying from Moscow to Perm crashed and no explosives were found in the area yet. The plane’s black box was found and sent to Moscow for investigation. Boeing Company said it would send experts group to Russia to assist the investigators.
A criminal case was launched on Article 263 (violation of security rules of the air transport causing death of two and more peoples) of Russian Criminal-Procedural Code. The investigative group is collecting fragments of bodies spread over a wide area. Their identities will be defined by DNA test. A special flight was organized for the relatives traveled from Perm to Moscow to pass DNA test.
A mourning day was announced in Perm Region on September 15. Local authorities are planning to build memorial monument in the place of Boeing 737-500 crash. There were 7 children, including 11-month Mark Yashmanov among the plane crash victims. Adviser to the Russian President Gennadiy Troshev and Vice President of Russian Sambo Federation Vladimir Pogodin also died in the crash.
