SOCAR finishes negotiations with AIOC, bp-Azerbaijan, BOSS Shelf and McDermott companies

The representatives of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) finished two-day negotiations with the representatives of bp-Azerbaijan, operator of the project of Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli, subcontractors BOSS Shelf and McDermott, SOCAR Press Service told the APA. The chief of the Investments Department of SOCAR Vagif Aliyev, chief of Affairs department Khalig Mammadov, chief of Capital Investments Department Agasef Aliyev, manager of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli project of AIOC Cameron Macklin, chief of the offshore projects of the consortium Carol Korni, Director General of BOSS Shelf company Richard Maki participated in the negotiations. AIOC representatives was told that though the personnel working on terms of the temporary labor contract in the Labor Code do not get grant, the workers finishing their work in the successful projects within â€œContract of the Centuryâ€? will possibly be awarded. The negotiations finished by reaching an agreement on giving the grant, cost three-month wage to local workers ending contracts with BOSS Shelf. A three-party working group was established for documenting the results of the negotiations and preparing an agreement contract.
The issue on giving bonuses to local specialists freed in subcontractor enterprises BOSS Shelf and McDermott on finishing some projects within â€œThe Contract of the Centuryâ€?. According to the contract signed by AIOC in McDermott Company, the workers ending their contracts are given grant cost three-month wage, while the workers ending their labor contracts with the subcontractor BOSS Shelf did not get grant. As it caused BOSS Shelf employeesâ€™ discontent the company leadership and staff appealed to SOCAR and AIOC to remove the problem. /APA/
