9 of 13 demonstrates detained in protest action held outside French embassy in Azerbaijan released

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov â€“ APA. Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan made a statement on the group of religious men making efforts to organize a protest action outside the French embassy in Azerbaijan. The spokesman for the Internal Ministry Orkhan Mansurzadeh in his response to APA question said that the efforts by a group of men to hold a protest action outside French embassy in Baku have been prevented today. 13 people were detained because of violation of public rules and were delivered to Sabayil District Police Office. The administrative protocol has been compiled concerning 4 demonstrators under the Criminal Codeâ€™s article #310 for voluntary disobedience of police executivesâ€™ orders. 9 of them have been released after being warned.

A group of religious men have today staged a protest action in front of the France embassy in Azerbaijan. APA reports that demonstrators protested against insulting Islam in France, discrimination policy against Muslims, as well as the publication of caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad in French satirical magazine â€œCharlie Hebdoâ€.
