The Ministry of Emergency Situations and Prosecutor Generalâ€™s Office release information on fire in Sumgait city

The statement reads that on September 17 at 05:00 pm. fire occurred in 6 fuel tanks of â€œHouse Thingsâ€ Open Stock Company and as a result of explosion the fire spreaded surroundings. .

The Ministry of Emergency Situations and Sumgait prosecutorâ€™s office workers as well as equipments, machinery and helicopters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations immediately arrived in the incident place and took urgent measures prevent spreading of fire and to make first aid injured people.

Sumgayit city Prosecutorâ€™s Office launched criminal case on the articles #162.2 (labor protection violation) and 225.2 (fire safety violation)

As a result of initial investigation it was revealed that the safety violation and labor protection violations were not avoided during the welding of fuel container.

2 people died and one is missing. 3 people injured as a result of incident .

Accurate names of died and injured people are investigated.

Measures to extinguish fire continue.
