The accident took place at 07.30 this morning near Puta station, spokesman for the Azerbaijan Railway LLC Nadir Azmammadov told APA. The train moving from Aghstafa to Baku collided with Daewoo bus, which was carrying the passengers, in a passage situated in 513 km sequence of Puta-Heybat quarter.
According to the investigation, the state of the railway passage, where the accident took place, was in accordance with the requirements of Railway Security Instruction No. 47/s dated back to 27 October 2003.
The bus driver also violated the traffic rules.
Department chief of the Republican State Traffic Police Office Kamran Aliyev told APA that seven people were killed during the accident. The investigation is underway.
