Director of Institute of Information Technologies: â€œThe last hacker attacks are a great signal for Azerbaijanâ€

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva â€“ APA. â€œNobody is secured from hacker attack. Even the very important websites of the worldâ€™s leading countries are attacked. These are the manifestations of virtual area and information war. Unfortunately the websites of the important government organizations were attacked. One needs to take measure against it and carry out special researchâ€, Director of the Institute of Information Technologies of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences Rasim Aliguliyev told APA.

He noted that the hacker attacks are carried out through certain providers: â€œI donâ€™t want to accuse anybody now. This issue should be completely investigated. It is not difficult for the experts to find out what providers in which countries organized these attacks. Relevant government organizations must take measures against the source of this threat. But this incident is a great signal for Azerbaijan. While the e-government is forming, we must attach great importance to the security of its components and our websites because such cases appear when the security is not ensured. The various e-services are rendered to the population via e-government. The falling out of any website is not an amateur issue and it causes the loss of opportunities by the government agencies to carry out their functions. Thatâ€™s why this issue makes us to focus attention on creation of mechanisms of national information security system in the country. It is true that the work on it is carried out in the country. Azerbaijan also joined the convention against the cyber crimeâ€.

Aliguliyev noted that the information security is one of the main components of the national security of the country: â€œThis incident makes us to carry out work at various levels for ensuring the information security, the use of anti-virus, anti-hacker program products, adoption of international information security standards by Azerbaijan, giving legal status to it by the corresponding organizations mean that it is needed to carry out work meeting these standards when the websites of Azerbaijani state organizations are established. Websites must be secured against the information threats. The information security must be audited. In the other words, the information security of the websites must be managedâ€.
