The Administration’s press service told APA that blast occurred on Edirne vessel owned by Turkey’s Sayci Denizcilik company on the night of January 15-16. 6 of the 15 crew members were citizens of Georgia, 4 of Azerbaijan, 3 of Turkey and 2 of Ukraine.

12 of the crew members were rescued and hospitalized in Durres. 3 of the crew members – Khayyam Mammadov (captain of the ship, Azerbaijani), Melkaz Laziashvili (boatswain, Georgian), Beka Urushadze (sailor, Georgian) were not found. The causes of the blast are being investigated.

The load capacity of 92 meters long and 14 meters wide Edirne vessel is 3850 tons. The vessel was built in 1980.
