The ministry’s press service told APA that five illegal hunters were detained in the territory of Zavvar hunting farm in Bilasuvar and Jalilabad regions of Azerbaijan on January 10. Sporting guns of four hunters were confiscated because were used without proper permission. Suddenly another poacher started firing at the ministry’s officials, no casualties were reported. Then the poacher threatened the ministry’s officials to kill them and took the confiscated guns and escaped from the site together with others.
102 service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, regional police department and General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan were immediately informed about the incident. The prosecutor’s office of Jalilabad region launched criminal investigation into the fact.
