Three traffic policemen dismissed for taking bribe from drivers

Baku - APA. The investigation into the fact of taking bribe by the traffic police officers from the drivers, who infringed the traffic rules, was finished and these persons were identified, chief of press service of the Interior Ministry, Colonel Sadig Gozalov told APA. According to him, by the order of the interior minister, these three persons who are the employees of the Baku City Main Police Officeâ€™s State Traffic Police were removed from the service in the internal affairs agencies. The gathered materials were sent to the prosecutor’s office for the legal assessment.

The videos reflecting taking of bribe by the traffic police employees from the drivers, who broke the traffic rules, were released in the internet.

Deputy chief of the press service of the Interior Ministry, Colonel Ehsan Zahidov told APA on January 10 that the corresponding bodies of internal affairs revealed 46 corruption facts in Azerbaijan last year. Measures have been taken against at least 60 employees. 43 of them were from traffic police. 35 of them were excluded from the interior bodies, 22 â€“ dismissed.

About videos in internet, he noted that, such secret tapes were shot regularly by the Ministryâ€™s corresponding bodies. According to him, 55 secret tapes were shot in 2011 and more than 40 employees were punished.
