Medical experts released opinion on death of former chief of Azerbaijani Interior Ministryâ€™s polyclinic No 2

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov â€“ APA. The results of medical examination of the death of former chief of Azerbaijani Interior Ministryâ€™s polyclinic No 2 were released. Chief of the Yasamal district department of the Health Ministryâ€™s Unit for Medical Examination and Pathological Anatomy Namig Mammadov told APA that deceased Namig Alakbarov was shot dead by firing point-blank at him. The bullet entering in the front destroyed the brain and remained in the neck. Doctors pulled put the bullet from his neck. The bullet was reportedly discharged from Makarov pistol. The experts said Alakbarov died as result of blind bullet wound.

Mammadov said no alcohol and drug signs were found in Alakbarovâ€™s blood samples. There were scrapes on his nose and forehead, probably as a result of falling.

Namig Fikrat Alakbarov, 50, was found dead in front of building No 83, Ahmad Jamil street on the night of December 13-14. He was shot in the head. A Makarov pistol was found near the body. Criminal case was launched on articles 125 (inciting to suicide) and 228 (keeping illegal arms) of the Criminal Code.

Alakbarov had been chief of Interior Ministryâ€™s polyclinic #2, he retired on a pension several years ago.

Law-enforcement bodies told APA that Namig Alakbarov lived in Nasimi district of Baku. According to the testimonies given by the members of his family, Alakbarov left home at 01.30 on December 14 without saying anything to his family. His wife asked where he was going to. Alakbarov said there was nothing to worry about, he would return soon. Approximately, two hours later Alakbarov was found dead in front of building #83, Ahmad Jamil street, Yasamal district.

Law-enforcement agencies are investigating the versions of murder. Most probably Alakbarov didnâ€™t commit suicide because his finger-prints have not been found on the arm found near his body.

Prosecutor of Yasamal district Hasrat Pirmammadov told APA that the conditions of the incident have not been identified yet. If the version of murder is confirmed, the criminal investigation will be conducted on charges of deliberate murder.
