Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. Azerbaijan’s Traffic Police Office released the statistics of road accidents happened in the country in 2011.
Chief of public relations department of the office Kamran Aliyev told APA that 2890 road accidents happened in the republic last year. 1016 people were killed and 3031 injured during the accidents. 1175 of the accidents happened in Baku, resulted in the death of 371 people, and injuring 1176.
Kamran Aliyev said 40 percent of the accidents were related to the pedestrians.
