Baku City Police and Prosecutorâ€™s Offices issue statement on armed incident outside popular restaurant

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov â€“ APA. Baku City Police and Prosecutorâ€™s offices issued statement on the armed incident happened outside the popular restaurant â€œNeolithâ€ in Baku. Press service of the General Prosecutorâ€™s Office told APA that the fact of ill-intentioned hooliganism was recorded at 20.30 on January 2, 2012 outside the popular restaurant located at the M. Aliyev Street accompanied by flagrant violation of public order and disrespect to the society.

Resident of Baku City, unemployed and drunken Huseynli Shahin Rabil, had parking disputes with the restaurant securities. Not taking the securitiesâ€™ remarks into consideration, Huseynli shot on the entrance of the restaurant from 16-caliber sporting gun. The people were forced the restaurant in alarm. Naghiyev Fakhraddin Firdousi, who was in the lobby in that time, was wounded. Police immediately arrived at site and neutralized Huseynli.

Nizami district police of Baku launched criminal investigation under the article 221.3 (hooliganism by use of weapon) of the Criminal Code. The sporting gun was taken as material evidence and police conducted relevant examination and investigation. Shahin Huseynli was detained for pre-trial restriction.

The investigation is underway.
