Law-enforcement officials hold meeting on Rafig Tagiâ€™s death

The report of the investigative operational group consist of the experts of the General Prosecutorâ€™s Office, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of National Security, as well as Justice Ministryâ€™s Penitentiary Service was heard at the meeting.

The investigative group was urged to analyze the versions and to continue investigative actions and operational searching measures for identification and detention of the persons committed the murder.

Doctor of the First Medical Aid Station No 8, writer and publicist Tagiyev Rafig Nazir (Rafig Tagi) was stabbed while returning from the office at about 22.00on November 19, 2011 near the building he lived. He was undergoing treatment in the Clinical Medical Center and died on November 23. Earlier the criminal investigation was launched into the fact in accordance with the article 126.1 (deliberate harming the health), but after his death the investigation is being conducted in accordance with the article 120.1 (deliberate murder). On November 26, the operational group submitted their report to the prosecutor general and interior minister. Investigative actions and operational searches were determined and concrete recommendations and instructions were given. This incident caused public resonance. The investigation is under the Presidentâ€™s control.
