Chief of public affairs department of the Main Traffic Police Office Kamran Aliyev told APA that 2820 road accidents happened in the republic within 11 months. In the aftermath of the accidents, 940 people were killed, 3037 injured. 1211 of the road accidents happened in Baku. 335 were killed, 1288 injured in those accidents.
1266 of the road accidents happened because of high speed.
Kamran Aliyev said pedestrians were run over in 39.6% of the road accidents. 365 pedestrians were killed, 842 injured in the road accidents.
92 of those killed in the road accidents were under 16.
