The human rights defender told APA that he was deported to Azerbaijan the day before.
“I was not given any document regarding my detention and deportation. They refused to give me a document,†he said.
Intigam Aliyev said he was insulted and beaten at Istanbul Airport by the employees of the department for foreign citizens.
“They put handcuffs on me and took to the police unit. They beat me. There are traces of beating on my head, ear and lip,†he said.
Intigam Aliyev said he did not know the causes of the incident.
“They treated me rudely at the customs office. I objected to it. That’s why they exerted pressure on me. I will sue Istanbul Ataturk Airport,†he said.
Intigam Aliyev, who was returning from the international event in Vilnius to Azerbaijan, was detained at Istanbul Ataturk Airport and deported.
