Baku police to tighten security measures on Ashura Day

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. The plan of measures is prepared by the Baku City Main Police Office to protect public order and ensure the public security in the capital in connection with Ashura events, chief of Baku city Main Police Office, Police Colonel Sahlab Bagirov told APA.

According to him, the police will tighten security measures for the purpose of protection of the public order in connection with the Ashura Day. Bagirov noted that all security measures were taken in the places where the Ashura events will be held in Baku: “The additional police guards are appointed for protection of public order and security in all mosques and sanctuaries of Baku. The measures will be taken for the prevention of violation of legal norms in the places of religious events. We will not interfere in the places of religious ceremonies. But the holding of events in other places as well as processions at the streets will be prohibited. We hope that the capital’s residents will not permit the illegal acts, and complete the Ashura Day in stable regime”.

Bagirov said that Baku city State Main Traffic Police would also tighten security measures tomorrow, the traffic movement will be regulated in the capital: “The necessary forces were allocated by the State Traffic Police for the purpose of ensuring the traffic movement in Baku. The traffic movement can be restrained in some places in connection with the events”.
