Regional Police Department told APA that resident of region’s Yukhari Laki village, Mehdiyev Vidadi Zeynal, born in 1968, was beaten by unknown car on November 23 during crossing the road.
He died at the hospital.
Aghdash Regional Police Office carried out operational search for identifying the car and driver who committed the accident and he has been detained today.
It was determined that Mehdiyev was run over by VAZ-2106 driven by resident of Malikballi village of Ujar region, Mayilov Aganazar Shaman, born in 1957.
The criminal case has been launched into the fact by Aghdash Regional Police Department, the investigation is underway.
According to information, driver Mayilov and pedestrian Mehdiyev are mullahs of their villages.
