Press service of the Ombudsperson’s Office told APA that the anniversaries of several significant dates – 20th anniversary of restoration of republic’s state independence, membership of Azerbaijan to the Council of Europe and ratification of the European Convention on Human Rights, 10th anniversary of Constitutional law on “Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsperson) of the Republic of Azerbaijan†and the other significant events have been marked this year. Taking all it into account, the Ombudsperson addressed concerning pardon on the eve of December 10 - Human Rights Day and December 31 – the Solidarity Day of the World Azerbaijanis.
The appeal also says that 339 prisoners were set free on the basis of appeal of Ombudsperson.
