Republic Prosecutor Office issues statement on charges brought against Avaz Zeynalli

Press service of the organization told APA that the criminal case has been launched on Zeynalov Avaz Tapdig on the Criminal Codeâ€™s articles â„– 311.3.3 and â„– 311.3.4 in the Department to Combat Corruption under General Prosecutor.

The investigation revealed that Zeynalov committed the other crimes. Thus, during the investigation Mammadov Akif Shamil and Mukhtarov Khanoglan Isa filed to the prosecutorâ€™s office and informed that Zeynalov took a bribe from them menacingly.

It was also revealed that in his newspaper, Zeynalov published incorrect materials that caused damage to the personality and activity of Akif Mammadov, president of â€œKurortâ€ OJSC founded by Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, starting with the end of 2006. Mammadov and his friend Mukhtarov asked Zetnalov to stop publishing the materials. Zeynalov demanded from them to absorb the expenses of the newspaper for several months, as well as to buy computer accessories. Otherwise, he threatened to publish the articles again and give them to law-enforcement bodies. Early 2008, he took USD 4000 as a bribe to stop the publication of these articles in the newspaper.

During the confrontment between Mukhtarov and Zeynalov, Mukhtarov approved once again the Zeynalov took a bribe from him menacingly.

Besides, citizen Tarverdiyev Sabir Rahim applied to the prosecutorâ€™s office and informed that Zeynalov took a bribe from him menacingly.

During the investigation it was revealed that Tarvediyev asked Zeynalov to stop publishing incorrect materials about the officials of the Yevlakh Region Executive Body in his newspaper. Instead, early 2010, Tarverdiyev gave AZN 500 to Zeynalov as a bribe. Zeynalov demanded additional AZN 2000 and purchase of computers to his office.

Zeynalov threatened Ahmadova Gular Mikayil gizi saying he had information that might cause damage to her personality and activity and he threatened to publish this information in the newspaper and demanded 10 thousand AZN as a bribe to stop these newspaper materials.

The criminal case has been launched against Avaz Zeynalov on Criminal Codeâ€™s articles â„–311.3.2, â„–311.3.3 and â„–311.3.4. Court sentenced Zeynalov to 3-month pretrial detention. The investigation is continued on the criminal case.
