Additional charge brought against Avaz Zeynalli

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov â€“ APA. The additional charge was brought against founder and editor-in-chief of â€œKhuralâ€ newspaper Avaz Zeynalli, journalistâ€™s lawyer Elchin Sadigov told APA. Lawyer noted that three more persons complained to investigative department of Anti-Corruption Office under General Prosecutor on bribing Zeynalli. The additional charge was brought against Zeynalli on the Criminal Codeâ€™s article â„–311.3.2 (reception of a bribe - repeatedly).

Founder and editor-in-chief of â€œKhuralâ€ newspaper Avaz Zeynalli was arrested on October 28. Investigation revealed that, Avaz Zeynalli threatened Ahmadova Gular Mikayil gizi saying he had information that might cause damage to her personality and activity and he threatened to publish this information in the newspaper and demanded 10 thousand AZN as a bribe to stop these newspaper materials.

The criminal case has been launched against Avaz Zeynalli on Criminal Codeâ€™s articles â„–311.3.3 and â„–311.3.4. Court sentenced Zeynalli to 3-month pretrial detention.
