40 aid trucks sent from Azerbaijan reached quake-hit Van today

APA reports quoting the website of the Ministry of Emergency Situations that the aid is being handed over.

Under the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, trucks loaded with 1000 tents (each 24 sq m), 40 generators, 40 sets of kitchen appliances and more than 2000 blankets have been sent to Turkey.

Up to now, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has sent 1250 tents, 700 sleeping bags, more than 5000 blankets, 2000 bed clothes, 40 generators, 40 sets of kitchen appliances and 2 field kitchens. The previous aids had been sent by planes.

The rescuers of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations started rescue operations in Van on October 24. Up to now they have rescued 12 people, pulled 60 bodies from the rubbles.

Earthquake hit Van on October 23. According to official reports, 576 were killed, 2608 injured in the quake.
