Azerbaijani Prosecutor General: The struggle against corruption is not on the desired level

He said under the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, measures are being taken to improve the activity of the Department to Combat Corruption under Prosecutor General.
â€œAn expert group has been set up, the number of the employees and the salaries have been increased. Struggle against corruption will become more serious after strict measures are taken in the short run,â€ he said.

Prosecutor General said materials of 101 corruption-related cases were submitted to the court by the Department to Combat Corruption within the nine months. 166 persons holding various posts were brought to justice.
â€œThe investigation into 88 criminal cases is being continued,â€ he said.

Zakir Garalov also commented on the increase of the criminal proceedings launched against bank employees.
â€œThe violation of law by some bank employees is being investigated,â€ he said.
