Human Rights Commisioner receives head of Children Uniting Nations Organization

Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmira Suleymanova has received Daphna Edvards Zimani, head of Children Uniting Nations Organization of US. MP Gular Ahmadova, chief of the Republican Children’s Organization also took part at the meeting, Ombudsman Apparatus informed APA. E. Suleymanova gave detailed information to the guest on functioning of Ombudsman Apparatus. She underlined that counselors institute specialized on different population groups was founded and Commissioner has adviser on childrenâ€™s rights. In her turn D.E Ziman speak about developments on protecting childrenâ€™s rights in childrenâ€™s facilities in her country. She also emphasized her interest for functioning of child organizations in Azerbaijan and presented her authorâ€™s book â€œGray Zoneâ€ to Azerbaijani Commissioner. At the meeting Elmira Suleymanova suggested her guest cooperation on working as network on protection of childrenâ€™s rights between resource center of children â€œChild and Youth Peace Network and Children Uniting Nations. D.E. Ziman accepted Commissioner suggestion with pleasure and suggested to conduct international conference in Baku against child trafficking, violations, using alcohol and drugs by children as well as for different projects aiming protection of childrenâ€™s rights. Suggestions were accepted by both sides.
