Press service of the Ombudsperson Office told APA that Suleymanova noted the importance of developing mutual relations with the embassy in the human rights sphere.
The meeting purposed to determine priorities of further cooperation. The diplomat positively assessed the recent pardoning Eynulla Fatullayev and releasing from prison. The ambassador was also interested in the Ombudsperson’s activity towards monitoring of ensuring the rights of arrested Bakhtiyar Hajiyev, Jabbar Savalanli and others, as well as the protection of property rights of citizens. The Commissioner said that she was closely cooperating with the state organizations, NGOs, civil society.
US embassy’s Political Officer Brigette Buchet also attended the meeting.
