Murder suspect arrested

He was declared wanted for abandonment of post in the army earlier. He is suspected in killing of exchange employee Vugar Balayev and injuring his father Ismayil Balayev in Sumgayit on Februray 20, 2010, as well as in killing of a soldier and police officers in Haji Zeynalabidin Tagiyev settlement.

He is also suspected in series of grave crimes, including assaulting and robbing the currency exchange stations.

Russian newspapers reported about the arrest of dangerous special criminal wanted for series of grave crimes in Azerbaijan. Belgorod police could detain him after receiving information from the Azerbaijani law-enforcement organizations, which issued arrest warrant against him.

He left Azerbaijan with false documents and was in hiding in Belgorod.

Vugar Balayev killed by him was a relative of the member of the parliament Igbal Agazadeh.

Azerbaijani Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov told journalists last month there was serious progress in investigation of Balayevâ€™s murder.
