Ukrainian operation group arrives in Azerbaijan for investigation of â€œblack transplantationâ€

Ukrainian investigators have started joint investigation with the Azerbaijani colleagues several days ago. The investigation is conducted on the basis of materials Ukrainian law-enforcement agencies have. Law-enforcement officials of both countries will conduct investigation in the Azerbaijani clinics mentioned in the materials and hear evidences of the doctors. The investigators will make public statement on the results of investigation.

Chief of the Ukrainian Interior Ministryâ€™s Department to Combat Cybercrimes and Human Trafficking Yuri Kucher didnâ€™t give details to APA and only said â€œthe investigation is going onâ€.

Yuri Kucher APA a month ago that operation group of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry planned to visit Azerbaijan. He said the group would stay in Azerbaijan for three or four days and carry out investigation together with the local law-enforcement bodies. Touching on the cooperation between the Azerbaijani law-enforcement bodies and Ukrainian Interior Ministry, Kucher said the joint investigation into the â€œblack transplantationâ€ had been discussed during the phone talk between the deputy interior ministers of the two countries. The sides exchanged views on the necessary measures for prevention of the crime.
Asked in what Azerbaijani clinics the â€œblack transplantationâ€ was performed, Yuri Kucher said one Azerbaijani clinic was mentioned in the case.

Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Zakir Garalov told journalists last month that Ukrainian Interior Ministry asked the Prosecutor Generalâ€™s Office about the â€œorgan mafiaâ€. â€œWe are seriously investigating every report. Ukrainian law-enforcement agencies said that they had operational materials about the â€œblack transplantationâ€. We will investigate this case together with the Ukrainian colleagues. If there are Azerbaijani doctors involved in â€œorgan mafiaâ€, they will be brought to justice. Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs sent notifications. We will learn it and make relevant decisionsâ€, said Garalov.
