Ministry of National Security arrests citizens of Turkey in Azerbaijan

Public Affairs Center of the ministry told APA that the citizens of Turkey â€“ Kaplan Onur Tahsin, Kitish Suat Osman and others did illegal business without being registered or getting special permission, i.e. license.
Onur Kaplan, Suat Kitish and others set up an illegal international communications service by joining one-way phone conversation device in the mobile operator network of Azercell Telecom LLC. Later, they obtained GSM channel allotters produced abroad and other devices, installed them in the flat rented in Narimanov district of Baku early in October, 2010, and started illegal activity.
Onur Kaplan, Suat Kitish and others purchased 32 Azercell GSM mobile numbers, entered these numbers to the special technical equipments for Internet access and organized unauthorized one-way international phone conversations into the countryâ€™s communication network without registration at the international automated phone stations of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies. Those equipments were found in running and connected order during the inspection. It caused above AZN 18 345 on the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies in a short period.

Law-enforcement officials unmasked the illegal businessmen and prevented possible use of communication network for transnational organized crimes.

The investigative headquarters of the Ministry of National Security launched criminal investigation under article 192.2.1 (illegal business causing huge damages). Onur Kaplan and Suat Kitish were arrested for pre-trial detention.

The investigators take necessary measures and continue operations for discovering all illegal cases and other participants of the crime.
