Counterfeit money gang exposed in Masalli region, Azerbaijan

He said operation was carried out basing on the information that Masalli resident Anar Khazail Mammadov, 29, Salyan resident Parvana Noyabr Akbarova, 42, and others made counterfeit banknotes.

The investigation found out that Anar Mammadov and Parvana Akbarova paid AZN 50 for the taxi from Baku to Masalli. As it was evening, the driver could only know it the next day. He appealed to the police. The police detained the two persons.

100 AZN 100 banknotes, 1 AZN 50 banknote, 3 AZN 20 banknotes, 2 AZN 5 banknotes, totally 10 120 counterfeit banknotes, the equipment used for making counterfeit banknotes were confiscated.

Masalli region police office has launched criminal case on the fact, measures are being taken to detain other members of the gang.
