159 criminal groups and 4 organized gangs involved in robbery rendered harmless in Azerbaijan over the last year and a half

Baku â€“ APA. Interior Ministry held a board meeting on the themes â€œThe works carried out on search of accused and missed persons, identification of unknown bodies as well as investigation of crimes related with robberyâ€, the Ministryâ€™s press service told APA. Interior Minister, Colonel-General Ramil Usubov said both issues were urgent and covered important spheres of the interior bodiesâ€™ activity.
Deputy Chief of the Criminal Investigation Department, Colonel Arzu Dashdemirov reported that during the eight months of the current year 1446 persons wanted by police, including 68 accused persons hiding in the CIS and other countries were arrested, and whereabouts of 58 persons were identified. Delivering a speech on second issue on the agenda, Chief of Head Investigation Department, Major-General Server Mehraliyev noted that 159 criminal groups and 4 organized gangs involved in robbery had been rendered harmless in Azerbaijan over the last year and a half.
At the and of the board meeting, Interior Minister, Colonel-General Ramil Usubov noted that despite successful efforts and activities some city and district police had shortcomings and demanded them to eliminate those shortcomings in a short period of time.
