Chief of organized criminal group planning to commit terrorist acts in Azerbaijan declared wanted

According to information, the person wanted via Interpol is Agil Namazov, 30. He is accused of terrorism. Members of the organized criminal group headed by Namazanov were rendered harmless as a result of operational measures carried out by the Ministry of National Security in March of this year.

Members of the organized criminal group – Azerbaijani citizens Nuriyev Samir Dadash, Mughumov Rafail Ibrahim, Gurbanov Yashar Spartak, Namazova Roza Muzeffer, Namazova Khaver Hamza, Penahov Ismayil Novruz, Penahova Bella Muzeffer; citizen of Russian Federation Gayrbiyev Elbert Elmirzayevich who were planning to commit terrorist acts by bringing a lot of illegal fire-arms, its complete parts, military supplies, explosive substances and installations from the customs office located on border between the Republic of Georgia and Azerbaijan have been overtaken.

The investigators clarified that leader of the organized group Agil Namazov, who is supposedly outside the country, sent a large number of arms, ammunitions and explosives to nearby area of Guluzambina village of Balakan region on January 6, 2010 to organize terrorist attacks in Baku.

Namazov was arrested in 2001 for participation in an illegal armed group. After releasing he moved to Tbilisi. When he came to Baku he gave a part of ammunitions to his mother Khaver Namazova, who hided the ammunitions near the secondary school in Baku, where she worked as a teacher of biology. Khavar Namazova was also arrested.
