The court chaired by Judge Alisoltan Osmanov made a decision to extradite Kartal Kadri Abdullah, member of the Kurdish terrorist organization PKK, to Turkey, but fulfillment of the decision was delayed until October 23, 2011, expiration of his term.

Abdullah expressed protest against the decision of extradition to Turkey. He said he didn’t want to leave Azerbaijan because he was married here and desired to live in Azerbaijan after expiration of his term of imprisonment.

In 2000, Supreme Court of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic sentenced Kartal Kadri Abdullah to 11 years of imprisonment for smuggling, storage, purchase and sale of arms, ammunitions and explosives.

Turkish relevant organizations sent a request to Azerbaijan about extradition of Kartal Kadri Abdullah, who participated in PKK operations against the Turkish Army in 1990-1992. He is expected to face with 36 years of imprisonment in Turkey for organizing a criminal group, infringement of unity and integrity of the country and participation in the armed groups against the army.
