Human Rights commissioner meets with EU monitoring group representative

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov â€“ APA. Human Rights Commissioner of Azerbaijan Elmira Suleymanova met with the representative of the EU monitoring group and program for combating misbehavior and impunity in the South Caucasian countries, Ukraine and Moldova Alexandra Khudokormoff, press service of the Human Rights Commissioner told APA.
Suleymanova told the guest that her office is conducting regular monitoring in the detentions, penitentiaries, social facilities, boarding houses, nursing homes and mental health facilities. The Commissionerâ€™s group of national preventive mechanisms against tortures examined the relevant facilities, sent queries and took measures.

Khudokormoff welcomed the many-sided activity of the Human Rights Commissioner and called it useful. She informed about the essence and goals of the program of combating misbehavior and impunity in the South Caucasian countries, Ukraine and Moldova she represented and said this program would be implemented until December 31, 2010 and then they would prepare final report.
