Azerbaijani Justice Minister meets with World Bank Vice President

Baku. Shahriyar Alizadeh â€“ APA. Justice Minister of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the Judicial Council Fikret Mammadov met with Vice President of the World Bank Philippe Le HouÃ©rou in Baku. Press service of the Justice Ministry told APA that the minister pointed out the reforms in the court and justice system of the country, establishing the regional courts to ease appeal processes for the citizens, formation of the administrative justice system, double increasing of the number of judges and other measures.

The sides emphasized the significant importance of the project â€œModernization of the justice systemâ€ carried out jointly with the World Bank. Then a film-presentation of the projects for strengthening the justice infrastructure, implementation of modern technologies, construction of new court buildings was shown.

The guest welcomed the achievements of Azerbaijan in the economic and legal fields in recent years and said they would further support the justice system reforms in the country.

Philippe Le HouÃ©rou visited the new building of the Yasamal district court constructed within the above-0mentioned project.
