BBC reporter Faina Hanifayeva told APA that she and several Jordanian tourists can not return to Baku from Piran village of Lerik region, where they spent holiday. Director of the recreation center “Tabassum†Akif Aliyev also told APA that heavy rains created flood threat removing several constructions and flooding several others.
Chairman of the emergency commission of Lerik region Habil Malikov told APA the highway has been cleaned for several times since the yesterday, but an intensive water flow continue to bring stones and rock pieces from the mountains, which shut off the highway preventing the vehicular traffic.
Malikov said more than 60 settlements in the region were cut off from the electricity and they were taking measures to solve this problem until the evening.
