Ramil Usubov receives newly-appointed Iraqi ambassador to Azerbaijan

Baku â€“ APA. Minister of Internal affairs of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Ramil Usubov received newly-appointed Iraqi ambassador to Azerbaijan Heydar Shiah Gubeyshi Al-Barrak. The minister congratulated the diplomat on his new appointment and wished him success, press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told APA. Usubov spoke about the new structure, functions and activity of the ministry, as well as new laws adopted according to the European standards and opinions of international experts. The minister emphasized the importance of joint efforts for prevention of international terrorism, illicit drug traffic, human traffic and illegal migration. He reminded that Azerbaijan is one of the active members of the anti-terror coalition and wished peace and welfare to friendly Iraqi government and people, who is in the most decisive period of its history.

The Iraqi ambassador thanked for reception and detailed information. He said the two countries and people had ancient friendly relations and added that Iraqi police would take useful experience from the activity of their Azerbaijani colleagues. He emphasized the importance of signing the protocols of intentions between the relevant institutions of the two countries, which are looking forward for extension of cooperation.
