Witnesses said they heard a huge blast that wrecked the eastern area of al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza Strip, adding that two militants were apparently preparing to plant a roadside bomb in the area, which accidentally exploded due to a technical problem.

Ambulances and rescue teams arrived at the scene after the Israeli army gave its permission to the ambulances to evacuate the bodies of the two dead militants.

Medics identified the two dead as Naji al-Nabahin and Ayman Abu Khousa, the bodies of the two were taken to al-Aqsa Hospital in central Gaza Strip.

Palestinian security sources in Gaza said the two are members of the Jihadi Salafists Islamic groups, which has similar ideology to al-Qaida organization led by Osama Ben Laden.

Local reports had earlier said that the Israeli army had fired two artillery shells at the area east of the refugee camp and killed the two militants.

However, an Israeli army spokesman denied to Xinhua that the Israeli army forces had carried out any military activity in the area, and denied that the two were killed by the Israeli army fire.
