Baku Main Police Office appeals to the residents of capital in connection with parliamentary elections

The office told APA that the appeal is connected with the registration of the people.

Taking into account that 2010 is the year of the parliamentary elections Baku Main Police Office calls on the residents of the capital to be active in getting identity cards and replacing the ineffective ones. Registration and Identity Card services of the region police offices of Baku Main Police Office have been mobilized to accelerate the process and offer any assistance to the citizens.

According to the present legislation, a citizen must get identity card when he reaches 16. The identity card must be replaced within a month when the person reaches 25, 35 and 50, his (her) name, last name, patronymic name, marital status is changed, words in the identity card are distorted, the identity card is lost. If the identity card is not replaced in the above-mentioned cases and time, it is considered invalid.

According to the legislation, the identity card is given basing on the application of every citizen, or his (her) legal representative, birth certificate, the citizenâ€™s photo, bill on payment of the state duty.
