Planned provocation committed against Azerbaijan at event organized by European Parliament

APA reports that Azerbaijani MPs Fuad Muradov, Chingiz Asadullayev and Asim Mollazadeh, who attended the seminar, talked about it today at the press conference at Azerbaijani Parliament.

They noted that topics on the ethnic separatism, topics of some invited separatist organizations on the ethnic discrimination in Azerbaijan were raised at “Azerbaijan's Presidential Elections: What Future for the Land of Fire?” seminar in contrast to the theme of the event: “They alleged that there is an ethnic discrimination and the rights of national minorities are violated in Azerbaijan. The aim is to distract Azerbaijan from the path of European integration through separatism. We said that it is a provocation. We objected to these discussions that did not coincide with the title of the seminar and stated that these claims against Azerbaijan are groundless.”

Asim Mollazadeh said even one person apologized and said: “The leader of the Talysh people Alikram Hummatov is absent, as he is in Yerevan, I am representing him.”

The Azerbaijani parliamentarians said they strongly objected to the discussions. They noted that Azerbaijan is a democratic, secular state and known as an example of tolerance in the world.

“The national minorities, religions enjoy equal rights in our country. There is sufficient legal framework for this.”
The parliamentarians also called on the Azerbaijanis all over the world to be delicate towards such cases in Europe.
