Elmar Mammadyarov: Date and program of Azerbaijani and Armenian presidentsâ€™ meeting being fixed

Baku. Anakhanum Hidayatova – APA. “I will revisit this region and do my best for a peaceful resolution of the conflict as the OSCE Chairman-in-Office,” Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said at the joint press conference with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov in Baku, APA reports.

He said that Serbia will take over the OSCE chairmanship in the beginning of the next year.

“I will approach the issue very seriously. It is not a political tourism for me. We welcome Azerbaijan’s assistance provided when natural disaster occurred in our country. We also appreciate Azerbaijan’s support to the territorial integrity of Serbia. Conflicts should be resolved through dialogue, it is the only solution. I won’t comment on double standards. Serbia has experienced this problem. We will contribute to the settlement of the conflict during our OSCE chairmanship. Serbia supports the territorial integrity of both countries,” he said.

Mammadyarov said unfortunately, Azerbaijan is facing double standards.

“The European Union supports the territorial integrity of all countries. However, if you recognize the territorial integrity of any country and there are forces of another country on its territory, this is an occupation. I can not call it differently. We should soon work on a peace agreement. Armenia should withdraw its troops from the territory of Azerbaijan. This is the biggest threat to the region,” Mammadyarov said.

He also added: “The date and program of the Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents’ meeting are being fixed. The co-chairs will visit the region next week. Thereafter, the foreign ministers will meet in New York.”
