Defense industry - strategic sector for Turkey and Azerbaijan, Davutoglu says

Davutoglu said that Turkey and Azerbaijan will continue cooperating closely and supporting each other within international organizations.

“I would like to emphasize once again that we will continue to support Azerbaijan’s all regional and international initiatives. Hopefully, we will gain great achievements soon and the project we initiated will be completed successfully. Each project we completed will pave the way for new projects”, he said.

The Turkish PM said the cooperation in the fields of energy, transportation and defense will be developed even further, noting that Turkey intends to increase the trade turnover up to $15 bln between the two countries.

“Defense industry is a particularly strategic sector for Turkey and Azerbaijan. These countries are committed to implementing a number of joint projects in this field. I feel proud to be in not my second but first motherland – Azerbaijan, and would like to reiterate that as Turkish Prime Minister I will always support Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani people”, he said.
