CoE Secretary General to visit Azerbaijan

The forum, jointly organized by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Council of Europe, UNESCO, UN Office of the Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth and the Government of Azerbaijan, is expected to be attended by more than 700 participants, the press service of the Ministry of Youth and Sports told APA.

4,705 youth applicants from 174 countries showed their interest in participation and 200 of them have been selected to attend the Forum. Overall 200 governmental officials will be either in minister or deputy minister level. Another 200 NGOs’ representatives will take part at the Global Forum in Baku. It is expected that 100 experts on youth policies will contribute to the work of the Forum.

The aim of the project is to explore new perspectives on youth policies, take measures for future development of the field, and conduct exchange programs on youth policies with different countries. The guideline, identifying new principles on youth policies, is expected to be prepared during the forum, too.

Within the framework of the Global Forum, one of the main directions in youth policies will be organization of regional meetings and development of exchange programs.

Note that, a dedicated postage stamp to the first ever Global Forum on Youth Policies, held in Azerbaijan, has been created and will be published soon.
