Baku to host "Great India" exhibition on September 12-28

Baku. Rufat Ahmadzadeh – APA. Baku will host "Great India" exhibition from 12 to 28 September, Ambassador of India to Azerbaijan Vinod Kumar said at the press conference in Baku, APA reports.

The Ambassador noted that the exhibition, that will take place at Amay Trade Center on the initiative of ANS Corporation, is of cultural and economic importance.

Kumar said that 80 entrepreneurs from 39 fields would attend the exhibition. Clothing, spices, souvenirs and ornaments, sweets and various dishes will be displayed at the exhibition.

Speaking about the importance of the exhibition, Kumar said that it aims at familiarizing Baku residents with the products and culture of India, as well as attracting attention of Azerbaijani businessmen.

The ambassador stressed that this is the first time that such an event will be held and underlined the need for various projects to strengthen the ties.

“There is a wider potential for cooperation. Currently, the trade turnover between the two countries closes to $ 500 million. In the last the Indian National Oil Company invested about $ 1 billion in Azerbaijani economy. There are plans to expand the cooperation in this field. We want the trade turnover between the two countries to be much more,” the ambassador added.
