Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Spokesman: â€œIt is surprising that the European Parliament is citing the position of the other organization's mission, instead of its own missionâ€

Victoria Dementyeva – APA. “It is surprising that in its resolution the European Parliament is citing unreal and biased assessment of the other organization's mission, instead of its own mission,” Spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev told APA commenting on the part of the European Parliament’s resolution regarding the presidential elections in Azerbaijan adopted on October 23, APA reports. He noted that such an approach once again demonstrates non-objective, biased position of some European parliamentarians in relation to Azerbaijan: “I would like to remind that on behalf of the European Parliament their colleagues have previously positively assessed and regarded the elections as free, fair and transparent.”

In the initial report released on October 10 observation mission of the European Parliament led by Pino Arlacchi positively assessed the presidential elections in Azerbaijan.
