Azerbaijani Foreign Minister visits New York

Foreign Ministry's press service told APA that the visit aims to attend and chair high-level meeting of the UN Security Council on “Strengthening the partnership synergy between the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation” under Azerbaijan’s presidency over the UN Security Council.

Minister Elmar Mammadyarov will deliver a speech at the meeting, statement of Azerbaijan’s Presidency of the UN Security Council will be issued at the end of meeting. Azerbaijan, which is the author of this first initiative on the strengthening the partnership synergy between the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, has set as priority goals of its Presidency of the UN Security Council further development of this issue, determination of various forms of cooperation between the two organizations.

Azerbaijan has been chairing UN Security Council since October 1, 2013.
