Foreign Ministry’s press service told APA that they stressed the importance of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European organizations, including European Parliament and exchanged views on the current state of negotiations for the further development of relations, also discussed process of preparation for the presidential elections in Azerbaijan and conditions created for election observers.
Elmar Mammadyarov informed the guests about main macro-economic indicators of Azerbaijan, achieved economic and political stability, implemented large-scale projects and the country's contribution to the development of the region. Touching on the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, the Minister underlined that the status quo is unacceptable and stressed the importance of withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from the occupied territories to achieve progress in the settlement process of conflict.
Head of the European Parliament’s delegation Pino Arlacchi said that they support more active participation of the European Parliament in the settlement process of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.
