As a part of his visit to New York to take part in the 68th session of the UN General Assembly, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Filippo Grandi, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), the Foreign Ministry told APA.
Informing about his organization’s activity, Filippo Grandi said their goals are to provide assistance to the Palestinian refugees and the cooperation in this field must be coordinated. He highly appreciated Azerbaijan’s contribution to the organization.
Giving detailed information about Azerbaijan’s humanitarian aids at the international level, Minister Elmar Mammadyarov referred to the activity of Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA) under the Foreign Ministry and noted the existing opportunities for joint cooperation.
