Azerbaijanâ€™s Deputy Foreign Minister: â€œIt is inadvisable to enter any one-sided formatâ€

As a state with wide opportunities, Azerbaijan should participate in all formats in accordance with its interests,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov asked about the possibility of Azerbaijan’s accession to the EurAsian Economic Community (EurAsEC) and Customs Union, APA reports. He said that the establishment of such relationships is still in the initial stage: “There are many aspects that need to be considered”.

The diplomat noted that Azerbaijan is a country that is ready to participate in the largest formats and cooperate both in the region and beyond: “Azerbaijan is a country that relies on its power and is benefiting from its economic and natural resources. At the same time, there are such regional countries that are benefiting the opportunities and potential of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is a state that is giving benefit to other regions and states, making a great contribution to Europe’s energy security and developing trans-regional transport routes.”
