Baku. Etibar Mammadov - APA. Protesting against the torturing of Azerbaijani citizen detained in Russia Orkhan Zeynalov, the International Diaspora Center has today attempted to hold a rally outside Russian embassy in Azerbaijan.
APA’s correspondent reports from the site that the participants chanted slogans “Russia is the second motherland of Azerbaijanis”, “Russia, recognize the rule of law!”, called on Russia to respect the human rights. The police prevented the protest action.
Chairman of the International Diaspora Center Ismayil Agayev told journalists that he condemns the use the domestic incident as a campaign against all Azerbaijanis living in Russia.
Following this, the resolution of the protest was read. According to the resolution, while detaining Orkhan Zeynalov the Russian law-enforcement bodies treated him rudely, the recent developments in Moscow are not inappropriate to Azerbaijan-Russia relations.
