Baku – APA. “I’m happy to be in my homeland once again. Despite in what position we are, we cannot differentiate between Turkey and Azerbaijan. For us, serving Turkey means serving Azerbaijan and serving Azerbaijan means serving Turkey”, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said during a joint statement with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. He said bilateral relations between the two countries stand at the highest level.
If you have a look at the Middle East, the Caucasus, the Balkans, and even Eurasia, the most successful projects have been signed by Azerbaijan and Turkey, said the prime minister.
“This is a story of success of two fraternal countries acting together. While there dominate instability, internal conflicts, and serious economic crisis in many places over the last few years, Azerbaijan and Turkey have made a huge progress in the last 10-12 years, signing large-scale economic projects. We have always thought of this. We noted during the meeting with my dear friend Ilham Aliyev that when Turkey gains an achievement, Azerbaijan will also advance or the contrary. When we look through projects of common interest, they are the projects capable of brining peace to all the countries in the region, not only Azerbaijan and Turkey. Through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline we connect the Caucasus to the Mediterranean Sea, through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline we connect the Caucasus to Anatolia, and we will have connected Beijing to London if the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad line and the Marmara project are implemented. And through the TANAP project and the Southern Gas Corridor, we will have connected the Caucasus to the Balkans via Anatolia. The Caucasus and the Balkans in the 1990s remind tense and negative events. As stories of success of Azerbaijan and Turkey, we will now connect the Caucasus to the Balkans as regions of peace”.
