Subcommittee on justice, freedom, security, human rights and democracy holds its meeting within EU-Azerbaijan Cooperation Committee

Press service of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA that the first day of the meeting was dedicated to law enforcement, border management, migration and implementation of the issues related to the fight against organized crime, which were reflected in EU-Azerbaijan Action Plan as a part of the European Neighborhood Policy (ENP), the second day to the assessment of the cooperation in the spheres of democracy, management and human rights.

The discussions on large-scale issues, including the national institutions for the protection of human rights, judicial reforms, elections, freedom of expression and information, freedom of assembly and association, as well as, the activities of civil society, women's and children's rights were held on the second day the meeting. The EU and Republic of Azerbaijan have discussed the cooperation within the international organizations, especially the UN, OSCE and Council of Europe in the sphere of human rights protection.
